Growing up in Afikpo, my village in West Africa provided ample opportunities for personal growth. Wisdom was passed down from the elders to the youth through oral tradition. There were no written instructions for all the intricate and elaborate cultural festivities and rituals, from initiation ceremonies to colorful masquerade dances, mask carving, and even on how to prepare the soil for an abundant agricultural harvest. Elders are given enormous respect in my village because they understand and have the ability to transmit what they know to the next generation. In other words, they are the mentors. One trait of these wise elders is the simplicity of their instruction. Because they understand the culture through immediate experience instead of through theoretical education, they are able to express their understanding in simple and practical terms. They are also great listeners. In fact, they advocate more listening than speaking. By listening diligently, the mentor can often hear what the protégé is not saying. Finally, the elders feel good when they know that the tradition will continue after they are gone, and that the next generation will be able to support themselves through the tips they received for bounty agricultural harvests. The traits of the wise African elders are what I’m bringing to the protégé. The protégé will also benefit from my broad industry experience, my diversified academic background, and the social awareness that I have gained through international travel. Lastly, the protégé will be inspired and motivated by my supportive coaching style. Like the elders of my village, I also feel good when I know that someone else is benefiting from my experiences.

Professional Accomplishments
1982-1986 NEW ENGLAND EQUITY SERVICES CORPORATION, N.J.
Position: Registered Representative. Successfully completed the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) examinations, series 3 & 6 (1983), Licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent, and licensed Real Estate agent. Personally developed individual and corporate clientele for securities investment, including limited partnership tax shelters, which required real estate licensing. Won the "Star Producers" award for outstanding sales performance.
Founder and president of Zeals International Ltd. (1986): The company was founded during my third year of undergraduate studies. Company developed new international markets and exported computer hardware, software, and accessories to Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Nigeria. Established subsidiaries in Europe and in West Africa in 1987 with a total of 12 employees, and sold company in 1991.
Upon completion of my training as a doctor of chiropractic, I successfully completed examinations for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and Physiotherapy (2002) and successfully completed additional jurisprudence examination for my eligibility to practice chiropractic in the states of California, Minnesota, and Hawaii.
An undergraduate degree in finance and practical business experience was imperative in developing a successful chiropractic practice. Healthcare practice involves multitasking-marketing, good time management, staff management, excellent communications skills, particularly listening skills, and interacting with many different types of people, including patients, other healthcare providers, laboratories, imaging specialists, researchers, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. It also involves good record keeping, compassion and a sense of accountability since the practitioner is held at higher standard. As a healthcare provider, you are constantly put in situations that require building rapport with different groups.Lastly, there is need for continuing education, which is compulsory for license renewal, to keep up with recent developments that affects your industry.
Founder and president of Interfaith Spiritual Fellowship (ISF), a non-profit organization (2006). The mission of ISF is to provide education on world religion and promote world peace through interfaith dialogue, fellowship and constructive community developments. The organization also raises funds for community developments in Africa, such as building public libraries in rural African villages.
Personality Strengths
Driven, a healthy positive attitude, optimism, and resilience. "What are you waiting for?" Do it now! A natural ability to present complicated topics so simply that practically everyone can gain significant understanding. Lastly, I'm goal-oriented, and endeavor to live up to my name, "Zeal."
